Minnesota has long been one of the Midwest's favorite vacation and getaway destinations.
Considering the region is home to millions of acres of densely forested land,
thousands of lakes and rivers, top family attractions and endless recreation,
it's easy to see why. Tourism impacts the regional economy to the tune of
millions spent annually in lodging, dining and related gross dollars. The
Laurentian Vision enhances the area's appeal as a year-round playground with
the addition of manmade lakes and waterways designed and optimized for leisure
and commercial use. Preplanned commercial and residential lakeside tracts open
doors for a variety of permanent and
seasonally based economic development projects. Upscale resorts and year-round lake
homes, golf courses, marinas and entertainment venues are just a few of the
plausible, tourism-related possibilities considered for the future.
